The Ethiopian Communications Authority has been undertaking a Market Review and Cost Study in Telecommunications Market in Ethiopia. Both the Market Review and the Cost Study have been completed and the Authority has issued determinations on defined relevant market and Telecommunications operators holding a Significant Market Power (SMP) as well as Mobile and Fixed Termination Rates (MTR/FTR) for interconnection services. The Ethiopian Communications Authority hereby issues Stakeholder Consultation on Directive for Communications Service and License Fee. The deadline for submission of comments on this directive will be June 15, 2023. In October 2018, the Government of Ethiopia announced its decision to proceed with the reform of the Ethiopian telecommunications sector. The Ethiopian Communications Authority, pursuant to Article 6 Sub-Article (14) of the Communications Service Proclamation No. 1148/2019, is mandated to safeguard the interest of Consumers of Communications Services.
